Choosing a wedding venue can be overwhelming, especially if you live in a big city. There are seemingly endless options for venues and vendors. If you’re thinking about having a Boston wedding, you should certainly consider hiring a Boston wedding planner to help curate your list of options and manage the event. However, even before you do that, you can begin brainstorming some Boston wedding ideas! Here are a few different types of Boston wedding venues to help you get started 🙂

Boston Wedding Ideas – Museums

Boston is famous for its many great museums, combining rich history and grand architecture. Many of these museums have both indoor and outdoor spaces. The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is a popular choice, and its trademark feature is an enormous nine-story glass pavilion. Other options range from the riverside Museum of Science to the exquisite Institute of Contemporary Art!

Hosting at a Distillery/Winery/Brewery

A wedding reception is an opportunity to host a festive party, and what would a party be without food and drink? A distillery, winery, or brewery would be an apt place to hold a wedding and reception. The Boston Harbor Distillery gives off a cool, seaside rustic feel, and the Trillium Brewing Company in Fort Point offers an industrial ambiance. For wine connoisseurs, there are several wineries available for weddings. City Winery offers a more urban feel, while Boston Winery was built in the 1800s and stirs visions of farmhouses from the turn of the century.

Boston Wedding Ideas – Historical or Modern Luxury Hotels

There are some extraordinary places to stay in Beantown; regal hotels serve as fantastic wedding venues, some quirky, some elegant, some charming. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel is a sophisticated space that provides a unique vibe that will astonish any couple and their guests. The Liberty Hotel is a National Historic Landmark constructed in 1851 as a prison, but now it has it all: a private courtyard, a magnificent 3,000-square-foot ballroom, and even suites with vistas of the Charles River. We love weddings at Boston’s Four Seasons Hotel with its variety of wedding venues, delicious menus, and very attentive service. And now, you’ll find a new Four Seasons at One Dalton. The Langham, another new hotel in Boston, is also one of our favorites with its beautiful ballrooms in a newly restored historic building.

Boston Wedding Ideas – Oceanside or on a Boat

Create an unforgettable wedding experience by getting married on a boat! Both the Charles Riverboat Company in Cambridge and the Liberty Fleet of Tall Ships in Boston can make a wedding on the water possible. For smaller gatherings, you could try City Cruises in Boston, and for something more luxurious, you could tie the knot on a yacht courtesy of Classic Yacht Charters by Anita.

Hopefully, some of these venues have given you some Boston wedding ideas. To plan your perfect Boston wedding, you’ll need an experienced Massachusetts wedding planner, and that’s where Jodi Raphael Events comes in!
